I like both renetto and periurban. However, Paul brought out drama in a place that called for meaningful discussion. Bad form!

No daggers though!

  • I want to make you the Emperor! Because you rule! :o)

  • I'm afraid I must refuse... Quick... Ask me again. :>)

  • Wonderful bit of analysis there. What started as just Peri venting a little is now becoming the hot battle of the day. But I'll be happy to just sit on the sidelines of this one.

  • Yes, hopefully it doesn't get too nasty. I have a feeling it will die a quiet death before long. Who knows though, perhaps we have an epic struggle on our hands.

  • Well done analogy..

  • I'm happy you appreciated it.

  • Interesting that Shakespeare presents a fairly sympathetic view of Brutus, with even Antony calling him "the noblest Roman of them all," whereas Dante, 300 years earlier, condemns Brutus to the very bottom of the 9th circle of Hell, along with Judas.

  • We come to praise Ceasar.....

  • The American Repertory Theatre (user=amreptheatre on YouTube, but they haven't posted anything recently) is doing Julius Caesar in February. I've been alluding to it in my blog, too. I thought it was somehow infecting the atmosphere in New England, but apparently it has spread westward as well.

  • You're not epileptic, are you?

  • "The Amontillado!" I said. | "He! he! he!--he! he! he!--yes, the Amontillado. But is it not getting late? Will not they be awaiting us at the palazzo, the Lady Fortunato and the rest? Let us be gone." |"Yes," I said, "let us be gone."| " For the love of God, Montresor!" | "Yes," I said, "for the love of God!"

  • But now there came from out the niche a low laugh that erected the hairs upon my head. It was succeeded by a sad voice, which I had difficulty in recognizing as that of the noble Fortunato. The voice said-- | "Ha! ha! ha!--he! he! he!--a very good joke indeed--an excellent jest. We shall have many a rich laugh about it at the palazzo--he! he! he!--over our wine--he! he! he!"

  • It was now midnight, and my task was drawing to a close. I had completed the eighth, the ninth, and the tenth tier. I had finished a portion of the last and the eleventh; there remained but a single stone to be fitted and plastered in. I struggled with its weight; I placed it partially in its destined position.
