back in the 80's Belgian TV did one George Formby film each week. they made me cry and made me feel so sweet inside. it makes people happy and this is a good thing! such great memories... great documentary!
I love things like this. Its always great to have this kind of talent and story live on. People these days just dont appreciate the past as anything more than anecdotal; only the major stuff remains. But there was so much beauty and talent in the past that will die if people like us don't continue the stories.
Im of Pakistani decent but a huge George Formby fan. Last year, in the Birmingham open market, I saw this old man selling black & white movie dvd's & memorabilia. He had a fine range of golden oldies. I saw the George Formby collection & immediately snapped it up for £7 (Bargain). Whilst still there, I bought the entire Will Hay collection too. Before leaving I said Aye up, I bet I'm the first paki to have bought the George Formby collection. He laughed & replied as a matter of fact yes you are
This is probably the best documentary I have ever seen. Definetly deserves a DVD release! Frank Skinner should make an album of himself singing Formby songs-hilarious and enjoyful!
Thanks for uploading - missed this on the tv - delighted to have the chance to see it.

Thanks for uploading this, was looking forward to seeing it on BBC4 at 10.30 tonight, and just found out it's been replaced by something else. :-(
