This was my 2008 History Fair documentary. I won first place for it in the school history fair and honorable mention in the Lee County Film Festival.

  • @Nisp4 I"m jealous of both of you, my great, great X ? grandfather on my mother's side was a slave owner, damn it; ironically I hate slavery with a passion and would have fought for the north too.

  • He was a War Criminal and should have been hung with Lincoln and the rest of the high command. Patrick Fogerty. Marines Vietnam 1968.Member Sons of Confederate Veterans. Semper Fi Dixie

  • very well done, very informative, and very well spoken.

  • @Mahbu to help surround Lee rather then sending him on a bloodthirsty march through territory with very little military threat (or economical threat for that matter, i mean the souths economy was pretty trashed by this point in time with it being split in 2) And when the president in office has corruption he is going to be blamed for it regardless of he did it directly. It is his duty to make sure corruption doesnt happen.

  • @Mahbu alright first off, i never claimed to be an expert. I just love history. and most experts that agree that it was not a warcrime were educated in northern colleges which adds a great deal of bias considering they are educated by northern professors and learn from textbooks written in the north. and to say the south was eager to fight is an exxageration. After Gettysburg, Lee resigned his army to defending richmond at all costs. Grant should of called Sherman to virginia (next comment)

I'm so glad you're such an expert. Nevermind that most experts agree it shortened the war. Nevermind that the South, in spite of it's "weakness" was still eagerly fighting on. And I know about the adage about victors and writing history. But it's not as if we wiped out the south.Look at it this way, there are no CREDIBLE sources beyond denialists and exaggerators that identify any massacres of civilians. Not a one.
