Sorry for the Albertan crack, TheAngryCanuck. I just wanted to make you angry. I'm pissed off because I am an Ontarian and am sick of all my taxes dollars going to waste in Alberta. :)

I think you misspoke a little on pensions, you can rollover a pension into a 401k or just leave it there I have a pension with FedEx and have left the company 3 years ago and I still get statements every few years.

Also taking money out of a pension or 401K has huge penality because the money is not taxed and it deters people from taking it out early, there is another way to get the money out tho you can take a loan out on the money and pay the interest back to yourself.
