Simply aMAZing. George Shearing said about BE's rhythmic construction and crossing the line, "...Where's one?!" He goes so far out in his displacement here it's almost impossible to count time, but when you do and when the next chorus, the bridge, or the ending comes around, he's right back on the original count! Bill, why did you go so soon? We hardly knew ye.
Evans is one of the few musicians I can listen to for days -- then have to stay away from for weeks while his phrasing works its way into my heart and soul.
Mariam McPartland held a major part in the history of American Jazz. She played for years at the Hickory House, a jazz club int NYC. Some the the musicians who played with her, called her friend as well as their savior are Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and many more. Joe Morello the drum great played with her for years before going with Dave Burbeck. Mariam was great.
I came across Marian Partkand on podcasting a couple of years ago. Since then, I've heard all of her programs with a lot of fun and interest, as well. In particular, this one is my favorate since it is very much classic jazz piece which sounds very much comfortable to me. Thanks a lot for sharing on youtube!

Her personal musical talent is equal to the guest she interviews. Two stars for the price of one.
She just clicks with who ever is on the stool on the day. Amazing,
