  • Growing up in the 70's I loved The Chargers (still do) and hated The Raiders (still do) But I do love John Madden!

  • beautiful

  • God bless Madden and Coryell

  • @PSantero i mean he started out in san diego with the aztecs. not chargers lol

  • @PSantero what all charger fans dont hate him? madden started out with the chargers. i love madden

  • He was in the hospital and called a nurse because something was wrong with the machine and they quickly fixed it. He would drive to the hospital after football practice, after home and away games to visit with Darrel in 78 before they moved him to Boston. No wonder why all the Raider players love Madden.

  • John Madden is a great guy and has a way to express his heart so genuinely and simply. I'm sure he learned a lot from Coryell. Most SD fans don't like him because he was a Raider, but this gives you some insight to the great guy he is. When Darrel Stingley got paralyzed in the 78 preseason game in Oakland, Madden was the only guy to visit Stingley the first few days, brought clothes for Stingley's wife and kids when they came and even saved his life when a machine accidentally turned off.

  • What a heartfelt eulogy from Madden..... Inspirational!

  • Thanks John., much respect.

  • Very well said Coach Madden.
