@takeamemo My high school bandmates went to Winterland (SF) to see this same tour (I missed going). On the Monday following, during rehearsal, asked them about ELP (they were the headliner). They said they were ok, but that there was this band that played before them that was good beyond words both in musical complexity and virtuosity. After practice I rode my bike to Wherehouse Records, saw IMF and MGB. The flame cover sealed the deal on buying IMF. Went home to listen. CHANGED MY LIFE!

About 18 years ago I spent US $20 to buy the (pre-owned) out of print double LP for this one song. I would have spent 10x that to get this. Without a doubt this is an extraordinary live performance.
I really have no words to describe the MO concert experience (saw them 3x in 1973). Well, one: ORGASMIC!

This concert took place in Puerto Rico on April 3, 1972. One and a half weeks earlier, on March 23, 1972, I saw Mahavishnu and ELP (also featured at Mar Y Sol) at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. It was, without a doubt, one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Period. It was obvious that both bands inspired/pushed each other, because both bands played out of their minds. Absolutely unforgettable...............

John McLaughlin is rightly deemed as the Best Electric Guitarist in the World. We have the proof of that in this track. Rest of the Band is also fantastic, of course.........
I had the great honor of listening to him live and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
