Selecting paint colors, Interior Designer's advice on WHEN to pick your paint color. Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson begins a series on HOW TO select paint colors for your home. Paint color selection is a multi layered decision and learning how to select the right color and texture is challenging in and of itself, but WHEN to select it, is Rebecca's primary focus on this video... the first in a series uploaded over a period of time.

  • Great advice Rebecca! I wish I lived closer i have so much to learn so glad you post these videos.

  • @FlowerRemedy Well thank you very much! Isn't technology just the greatest...I have more videos coming, so stay tuned! ;) RR

  • Im RE WATCHING your videos all over again. I'm getting married and moving in 3 months! choosing colors and decor is more interesting than wedding planning.. that gets too stressful at times! Your advice has been so helpful ! i went to ikea the other day with a friend and saw a painting! i absolutely fell in love with it so I will use that help me decorate the living room!

  • @springbloosom Awesome! You are so funny... decorating is more fun than wedding planning... lol. Good luck with both ventures :-) and thanks for watching and leaving a comment :-) RR

  • can you pick a general color you want for the room to have an idea and then at the end actually pick a shade or would you still suggest just waiting til the very end to see where the room takes you.

    If you do suggest to wait, how should one go about choosing a style/theme?

  • @ValerieEileen Im not sue if you're asking if you should have a color in mind or actually paint the color you're thinking of and change it at the end?? I start with fabric and or art pieces. This determines the theme. I keep the colors fluid till the last minute what everything has been selected. Then I make my final paint color choice... when I know my light fixtures, area rugs, flooring, furnishings, wall textures if any, art, accessories, window treatments and botanicals... Then I pick paint!

  • are there colours that you often choose again and again. You mentioned the Pashmina by Benjamin Gray in one of your videos, and it does look great. I wondered if there are other colours that you use a lot, thanks. Thanks for the advice in this video it's really helpful.

  • @robesondesign So Sorry... I meant to say Rebecca lol =}

  • @robesondesign Robin Im currentley using SketchUp from google and seriously considering SketchUp Pro. Im in school right now for Interior Design and in need of a good design sofware is there one you would highly recommend? Thanks =o}

  • Darn, that's what I've been doing wrong! Thanks for this info...paint last!

  • You are so excellent. I actually had a so called interior design consultants check my place and the first thing they did was had me choose art I would like, then they wanted to match the paint to the artwork. No talking about furniture etc. Kind of the reverse of what you said.

  • Ahhhhh was going mad!!! I have an empty hause, no furniture yet and i was thinking wich color to use!!! So for know i am going to spend that time looking for my furniture and then the paint, make sense;!!!
