...THIS IS THE OURAN TRIBUTE VIDEO I'VE BEEN HOPING TO MAKE FOR SO LONG ;w; I hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you to read Ouran again :)

* BE WARNED THAT THERE IS A LONG DESCRIPTION AHEAD *

This video started out as a vent video about a week and a half ago..You know that feeling when you don't really have anything to complain about in your life - there's nothing terrible going on, but you have this inexplicable feeling of loneliness, and you just need to cry and want a hug? It's not a permanent thing, but I think it's always waiting in the back of your mind to get you when you're feeling vulnerable. While editing I always listen to my iTunes so I don't get bored while masking xD This line from "Dakota" by O.A.R. caught my attention and says what I mean:
"I think everyone has a devil waiting in the wings
When you don't know what to do
And you don't know who to be."

For me, it's probabIy because I have unrealistic expectations of people - thinking they'll realise I'm going through difficult situations without me saying anything directly to them, and then being crushed because they don't say anything. And it's not like I'm flawless in this aspect - I know I've hurt people; unintentionally, but still, I have hurt them. But of course, not everyone has the time to check up on you all the time cos they're battling their own demons or moving forward in life - and I think it's just something you have to accept or otherwise you'll get caught into a cycle of negative emotions.

SO ANYWAYS, that was how this video started. This is the beauty of video-editing and why I love it so much..releasing those pent-up emotions. Plus, it's therupeutical too - I feel much better now (probably because I got caught up in editing rather than wallowing in misery xDD). May have shed a few times while making this ;___; Ouran + this song = high emotions for me.

Ahh and holy crap..I haven't been this proud of a video since probably..."Prove You Wrong"? That's not to say I dislike my other vids - but this one really just feels right to me - the way it was created, the inspiration I had when making it, the emotions it conveys (hopefully). One of my New Year's Resolutions for 2011 was to become a better editor, and I think if you compare this video to say, this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2oVlGZBGjA (my "old" style), I think I can safely say, "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED AND COMPLETED" (one of the few 2011 Resolutions I actually accomplished OTL T__T). I'll always strive to be a better editor.

Also these lyrics were just...FITTING for Ouran in my mind. The lyrics made me just think of certain parts in Ouran, so the scene choice is based on the lyrics, not giving character-parts equality xD (I actually wanted to include more characters than just the Host Club, but I only got to include Neko and his sister D:). I also matched the Japanese seiyuus voices from the Ouran anime/Climax Drama CD with the correct scene/words, something I've been wanting to do for so long 8DD I'm so happy I managed to do it!

The song was inspired by this absolutely-positively amazing HIMYM video *A* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMGNGzZUod0&feature=channel_video_title If I can touch someone half as much as the way that the video made an impact on me (watched this 10+ times and I'm still tearing up ;w;) then I'd be the happiest person!

Any text left in was done so intentionally - the text in manga is just as important as the images, especially for Ouran. Which is also why I've been struggling to edit with Ouran this year; with my new style, it's more about clean editing and less text-bubbles, but Ouran has a lot of text in comparsion to other mangas, so it makes it harder to edit with at times.

AND FINALLY, I want to dedicate this to AA (dengekiDAlSY) and Chrissy (TheSummelBaerli) for being the most amazing friends!!! *cheesiness mode on* I only met you guys this year but now I can't imagine a life without you guys ;w; It's been a more challenging year than most, and you've both helped in ways more than I can explain. Thank you so much for being there for me during this bittersweet-life-of-a-year. I love you ♥ ♥ ♥

This'll be the last MMV from me this year (hopefully you'll see two completed MEPs from me in the near future!). I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and are excitedly preparing for a new year!! Thanks for all your support, comments and messages this year! They really mean a lot to me ♥
