  • Any major company should be fine.

  • I checked out those shows being a fan of the old TechTV and the original full-length Screensavers show, and have absolutely gone overboard since then with IPTV and RSS Feeds. I'm very seriously considering JBODing a bunch of huge cheap hard drives into an old computer and using it as a content server to download podcasts both video and audio over my wireless LAN to save all the stuff and autodownload new content via ITunes that I can open remotely via Media Player Classic on my main machine.

  • One of the projects I will be working on later, and probably putting on the show is a Myth TV or Freevo Box. I really wan't to get stuff up to my LCDD projection TV. I was stunned by how good it looks when you get a DVI to HDMI cable and feed it directly to the TX. You can see small text clearly. I have a bug in the display, which effects the menu bar in windows. I fix that, I will probably watch TV less and less :)

  • No problem, just passing on stuff I like. :)

  • LOL @ note taking facility. Awesome videos, man. Technology is one my deepest passions in life -- as weird as that may sound. The whole note taking thing is something I've done for years. I have notebooks left over from when I was a kid first learning BASIC. I wrote down anything I didn't understand, ideas, game solutions, etc. It's something about writing down that helps me memorize concepts. Thanks for making these videos, you should do some tutorials for VTC on something you enjoy in IT

  • It's pretty interesting how the IPTV landscape has changed over the past few years. Revision3 has been gobbling up a lot of old TechTV talent from Ziff Davis. Norton and Heron now host HDNation instead of DLTV. Maybe if you ever made a comeback here on YouTube a good first show would be an update to this one talking about the new IPTV landscape. I'm thinking of doing one myself. :-) Also, LOL at my 2-year-old comment on the same page as this one. :-D

  • this is cool stuff, having fun building my server. I wish I could work out what order the shows go in tho :-)

  • so is this for a guy that is going to major in IT school. wo do you recommend interships with?

  • Hey TechAnvil - I am doing Fedora server build right now, I got burned cd-s that came with some literature I took out, I never installed server software via image duplication, and it's giving me 'out of hard disk space' msg on 30gig HD. What could I do to circumvent this problem?

  • Thanks so much for making these video's for us all to share. It's so nice to see quality video and instruction like this on the web, I'll be following along video by video, that's for sure. Keep making these, people are listening intently out there =)
