I can comment from experience that the buffing exhaust does not buff to a high shine,,, exhaust dust is not shiny . do not thin the paints it kills the performance especially the buffing colors.. also you will not get a high shine on ..a piece of paper with your finger? also your second "dust coat" of steel is not going to shine up like your expecting..so many things done as an unorganized experiment to honestly critique the metalizer line. check out my vids I just put up

I think it turned out great! I like the look of it. With some weathering as a further step the model will be killer.

@ThePaintingClinic thanks for getting back to me on that. i actually ended up going back to the store to get a bottle of buff gunmetal and the finish is quite diffrent, looks much better. i did get some thinner to clean my airbrush so ill try thinning them a little and test again. ill probably post a comparison vid in a few days and ill make sure to mention this. thanks for the tips!

That turned out great. =)
You should try buffing with a clean old t-shirt, not your finger

@JohnLoganMcKee03 I tried both. I got even less results with cloth.

is there a diffrence between th buffing and non buffing metalizers as far as the finish. im spraying a test strip with non buffing gunmetal and it has a weird glitter-y grainy finish. looks like crap. tried spraying it over a black base and it still looks like crap.....any ideas?

@jasonh768 I don't know what the diff is between buff and non-buff. Wild guess would be the non-buff contains a sealant. I didn notice spraying it straight from the bottle resulted in a rough grainy finish. Thinning it seemed to help smooth out the texture.

Is Metalizer really that hazardous?

@bttfspencer I was just a tad concerned because I've only every airbrushed acrylics. The fumes from lacquer can be quite intense as well as being flammable. Spraying it indoors inside a homemade booth was a bit worrisome.
