Here's the list if you don't want to watch the video.

Tools you will need to prepare the night before:

-Jacket (if it's cold outside)
-Fanny pack to carry all of your things.
-Walking/jogging shoes
-Walking/jogging clothes
-Comfortable socks
-Comfortable underwear (jogging bra and underwear that doesn't ride up)
-Hair tie
-Hat to keep the sun out of your face
-Sunglasses to keep the sun out of your eyes
-1 tissue (in case you need to blow your nose)
-1 small towel to wipe sweat if needed
-Leash for the dog (s) (if they are coming with you)
-Doggie poop baggies in case the dogs poop during your walk
-Jogging stroller (if baby is coming with you)
-Blanket, snacks or drinks for baby
-Music! A walkman, a radio an iPod with fun music!!! Very necessary!!!! (earphones of course)
-Optional (a pedometer or mile marker. You can download them for free on the iPhone-One like "Nike + GPS")
-Small water bottle.
-Anything else you want to carry with you....

Step one:
Put all of these things in order and have them ready in the same spot every night before you go to bed.

Step two: Plan your time.
Set your alarm to wake you up 1 hour before you want to wake up and snooze it if necessary. Example: if you want to wake up at 6 am, set your alarm clock for 5 am.
If you have a difficult time waking up, put the alarm clock away from you.
Remember, you will need at least 30 minutes to get ready. So, if you want to wake up at 6 am, you will probably not leave your house until 6:30 am.

Step three:
The night before, go to bed on time and early. For example, if you plan to wake up at 6 am, be in bed by 10 pm at least. Get 8 hours of sleep or as many as you need.

Step four:
In the morning, when the alarm clock says it's time to get up, just close your eyes take a deep breath and get out of bed. Nothing else. Don't think. Just get up.

Step five:
When you are ready to walk, walk as much as you want. Don't push yourself the first week. If you walk around the block and come home, it's ok. Do what you want the first week. But make sure you do it every day. Monday through Friday!
Note: if you push yourself too much the first week, you increase your chances of giving up. Take it easy.

Step six:
Note how far you walked/jogged. Next week, try to walk/jog a tiny bit longer. Example: If you walked/jogged 1/2 mile, try to get to 3/4 mile next week :) Don't push hard. Take it slow. Take it easy.

Step seven:
If you did it, be happy! Tell people about it. Friends and family will be happy for you and can offer supportive words :) Walking/Jogging is so good for reducing stress. It puts you in a better mood and helps you deal with life easier!

Let me know if this helped you.

  • thank you for this information! Since it is spring, I have been wanting to wake up and start my day with some fresh air and exercise. I'm sure like everyone else - it is SO hard to get out of bed early. With this info, I really feel motivated!! thank you! Can't wait for your next video!

  • @tree91408 I hope you try to force yourself to get up early :D

  • Totally O.T. question: Are those cereal dispensers in the background? If they are where did you get them? I have wanted some for the longest time.

  • @herediafamily Yes they are. They were a gift. I love them LOL :) I think you can get them on Amazon (website)

  • Great video !

  • Hello! I really like your advices about how to fix the times to prepare for and to go jogging. Is there a video as well what to consider while jogging? I often have the impression that I jog 'wrongly' (breathing with open moth sometimes, back isn't straight, legs/feet movements etc.). Is it advicable to drink exactly before running?

I've started to run this week and if I was hindered it was often also because of the weather conditions.

    Thank you :)!
