Part of an interview with Jahnava Nitai Das in Orissa for an Indian television channel, which was simultaneously recorded by a devotee on a digital camera. Topic of the interview is Puri Jagannatha temple's policy barring foreigners from entering to worship the Lord. For more information on the Bhaktivedanta Ashram, please visit:

  • Its ok to exclude non-hindus. But this man is a Vaishnava Hindu. This is a herrendous aparaadha and apachaara. The Vedic shastras and Vedic Rishis and mahatmas are clear. Even if a devotee is a dog eater or Mleccha if he is devoted to Krishna than he should be accorded all respect for he is dear to Sri Vishnu and his beloved consort. Better to offend god than his devotee!

  • HINDUISM,it can't be explained only can be experienced.....................

  • There are some reasons for not letting foreigners in. One part has to do with the Giant blue diamond that was stolen from Jagganath by British. They still have it. The numerous offences of foreingers. While entrance is akin to walking into the capital of any country, high security. I fully understand the feeling of no darshan. WE should know that Hari Das thakur was Brahma himself and not allowed in, nor Srila Narayana Maharaja of Purebhakti. com Prema in separation makes prema stronger.

  • It's nice to allow any one practicing Hindu way of life ,even a white man if he's accepted the way of life as Hindu the he or she must be allowed...How sure are you that the priests are very clean in their mind..?

  • It is predicted that Lord Jaganatha will leave the original temple that will be destroyed and will go in another temple nearby in the same city.

  • @TheShuryansh Yes, I'm sure the millions of Dalits know that experience well.

  • Cow sacrifice in Hinduism - Dr. Zakir Naik.

  • Foreigners should be allowed inside the temple.

  • If Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who is Jagannath HIMSELF, wanted to change it, HE would have. He did not want to change it for Haridas Takur, who is Namacharya. Instead Caitanya Mahaprabhu, visited and took Jagannath prasad, Himself everyday, personally to Haridas, who was born in a muslim family.

  • God will be happy if you serve him. But, if you serve his devotees then god will be very very happy. Just like if you hurt someone they feel bad still forgivable. But, if you hurt their kids there is no limit for anger and not forgiveble.

  • Prabhuji you are absolutely right. I am Hindhu by birth and Indian. But, learnt about god spirituality more from western devotees. Please allow him. This is not fair. Jagannath is not Indian Nath or piece of land nath. so, management has to prove it by allowing sincere devotees.

  • Another thing, this rishi does a good job using the Veda's to prove these priests are acting abhorrently

But really its a common sense thing, you don;t need the veda's to see that these Jaganatha preists are racist, corrupt, tyrannical and fascist. It is simply common sense.
