My rant on Leon Kennedy's overuse

For my second rant session I the Gargoyle Man discuss the real deal with Leon Kennedy, Capcom's most overrated Resident Evil character.

Gaiden is a non-cannon game, Barry never met Leon. Also Leon Overuse? 3 games, Chris overuse? 4 games. Also Degenaration was a movie doesn't fucking count, Also Chris was in Afterlife and you didn't count that, Leon and Chris and Jill are the main protagnists so it's common sense that they would be in shit loads of games just like how Wesker is the main villain and always is behind everything causing him to be in the many games. Clearly you don't know a single thing about Resident Evil.

Sure you can argue against Gaiden, but Degeneration is still canon to the video game series and so will the new RE: Damnation (which should've had Barry instead of Leon). But, seriously? You count Afterlife to be part of the game series?! Paul Anderson's movie series NOT part of the game series at all! I didn't count Wesker because he supposed to be the arch-enemy. Obviously, you're the one who doesn't know crap about the RE games.

@Cellmate412162 I didn't say Afterlife was apart it's a non cannon movie spinoff neither is Degeneration because it has no relevance to anything in the games...You complain about two protagonists who are a huge part of the games, You bring up non-cannon titles and act like you know what you are talking about. @Skeletonhands12 I never complained about Chris Redfield. I was showing how Leon has exceeded Chris in the number of appearances. If Degeneration is non-canon, then prove it Sherlock! The issue about Gaiden is debatable in both sides without undeniable proof, but you can call it non-canon if you like. Bottom line is that you're too delusional to know anything about the RE series.

its like saying wesker is over used like really both Chris and Leon are the main protagonists yes there's others like Jill and Clare but still there no gonna make a story about Rebecca or Carlos unfortunately quit bitching about charters that are used a lot in the series

Chris has been in 4 different outings. RE1, RECV, REUC, RE5.

Leon has also been on 4 outings: RE2, RE4, REDC, RE:Degen.

Leons got another CG movie coming up, Damnation, while Chris has got another game coming up, Revelations.

However, if u count the games, not the stories, Chris has more. And u must be the only person who's actually interested in the pointless moron Carlos. If i was Barry id have left him there in Raccoon City to get blown up.

I want Nicholai back as a villain.

we need more Barry, rebecca, Stever, sherry, and some other ones I am to lazy to list....they are the ones though who are leaving a giant hole in the series, mainly steve then sherry then barry then rebecca, since why did they have to add the random chrisxwesker fight in the end, the only thing that did was to say steve might come back and then sherry....where is she either, even if she was semi annoying to people.

They are going to use Leon and Chris again in Resident Evil 6. I know the characters I'm going to list are side characters, but Capcom needs to know that people like Rebecca, Barry, Billy, Sherry and Carlos also. If you think about it, if these side characters wouldn't have existed then the main character would be in alot of trouble. For example: When Jill was infected, Carlos had to go through the hospital from hell to get the vaccine.

I'm glad to hear someone else was interested in what happened with Carlos, I know most people hate him, but I really liked him for some reason in the game and he remains one of my favorite characters along with Billy Coen. I LOVE Leon just as much as any fan of the franchise, but feel he and Chris are becoming overused and I'm sick of seeing the same guys. It would be nice to see Rebecca or Barry, or all the survivors fighting alongside each other against the zombies. That would be better to me.

@NTom92 Well it has nothing to do with anything that has happened in the main series because the characters history can contradict it, I've seen Degeneration and it does have some ties to the games but it also isn't the most relevant but it doesn't needed to be counted as a character's overuse like this asshole is doing and of a course the live action movies aren't relevant, Alice has nothing to do with the games at all.

@Skeletonhands12 None of the live action movies are relevant, but Degeneration and the upcoming Damnation CG movies are, they are made by Capcom to tie-in with the games.

It's not stated what exactly happened following Raccoon City but the RE3 epilogues show that Jill immediately set out to find Chris and found his hideout empty (because he had already left to save Claire), while Barry relocated his family. I'd like to think that Barry is part of the BSAA with Jill and Chris, and even Rebecca.

@NTom92 No none of the movies have relevance to the storyline there's a main game series for a reason, and yes i am aware i responded to myself simply because my computer was being gay, Jill and Barry went against Umbrella after Raccoon City after that Jill and Chris teamed together to go on with that mission seen in umbrella chronicles. Complaining about apparent overuse is stupid and Gaiden was developed by another company? Well there you go it's Non-canon then.

@Skeletonhands12 Actually, Degeneration is fully canon to the games. After escaping Raccoon City Jill searched for Chris, and they both joined that unit they are with in Umbrella Chronicles. Gaiden wasn't developed by Capcom, and later titles have ignored it. It's not considered canon. Also, the live-action movies have ZERO relevance to the games, but FYI, Leon and Barry are in the next one.

They have equal canon appearances. Leon's non-canon appearances such as Gaiden and Operation Raccoon City are comparable to Chris's appearances in RE2 Extreme Battle and Mercenaries 3D, just that Gaiden is an actual story. I want them to make a CG movie with Chris and Jill too, Rebecca could be in that.

Regarding the other characters, yes they could re-appear but they should remain the side characters they were always intended to be.
