Promoting the motorcycle adventure book "Split -the Early Years' This is a home made Ham radio I made. It features a 1959 Heathkit Benton Harbor Lunchbox that is home to a homebrewed Ramsey Reciever and Transmitter. They are wired to the original Heathkit controls. 5 watt output & complete 2 meter reciever. It can be used simplex or repeater. An external 3 amp power supply(not shown) runs the transmitter. The reciever runs on a standard 9v battery. I have used this radio on field day. It is the only one like it in the world. The microphone was also converted to run an electric mic. It is housed in the original Heathkit microphone box. The radio was featured in Hambrew Magazine and was alson shown in VHF magaxine, with it's homebrewed Heathkit power supply and homebrewed antenna. It is very lightweight and portable.
