This was stopping me from playing with this program, why I was lost like many others viewing tutorials looking for this:
From Sony: "...the loop files [ARE ON THE CD!!!] They'll be located in a folder called "Loops." ... ...we highly suggest you copy the entire Loops folder from the CD and onto your hard drive.... you do not have to register the loops with us and they are not actually copied to your hard drive when you install the ACID program.
Sheesh, oughta be in the instruction book!

True, but you can buy the program online and download it directly without getting a disk, which complicates things.

It goes on to say: " If you chose to download your software and did not select the option to receive a content CD, you are able to download free loops from ACIDPlanet or new loop library samples from the Loops for ACID store page." Neither looks like a spot for getting thousands of free loops like what came on the CD but at least it's something. Either way they left a lot of guesswork between advertised and actual product. There's no mention in the help files; we're supposed to just know.

I know. I bought the program the first time when I got my computer, some 5 years ago now. I actually got the disk but the loops weren't on it. I had to send an email to their support dept and wait for them to get them to me by mail.
My windows died about a year ago and I had to rebuy the program because the disk was broken, I still had the loops so I just bought the download version.

Just do a google search for free loops, but make sure they are royalty free too. Free to download is not the same as royalty free.
I would still suggest finding a company that sells collections/libraries and buying 2 or 3 just so you have something to work with.
But that depends on you budget of course.
Stay tuned for some of my upcoming videos because I will be covering how you can get a lot more mileage out of a small loop collection.

is there a way to just straight up turn on your keyboard (piano) and hook it up to your computer, and easily record from that??? I just can't do it. I don't understand.

You need an audio interface to plug an electronic keyboard into a computer. You can also get MIDI keyboards that plug directly into the computer.
If you don't have an electronic keyboard, then you need an audio interface and a mic.
