'Beauty is Love" -A "Beauty is" Contest Entry

I believe someone is beautiful when they stop worrying about their own problems and take time to help another. In todays society, media depicts beauty in the form of a flawless physical appearance. While this definition of beauty is true to an extent, I believe that beauty is more than that. This video reflects on the definition of beauty in the scene where the girl is looking through the magazine. The ripping of the page is symbolic of a rejection of societal beauty. Beauty can come in many forms, not just physical appearance.

One form that beauty can come in is love. The paper hearts in the video are symbolic of love. Just the act of giving a paper heart or sharing your love with someone, can brighten up someones day and bring a smile to their face. Its amazing how a simple gesture like this can mean so much. When you care for others and disregard your own self-interests, you are beautiful.

The song used in this video is What would Love Do Now by Jason Mraz. I was inspired to use this song after I attended a free Mraz concert in San Diego. The best part about the concert was the electric atmosphere. Everyone was having a blast and there wasnt a frown in sight. It was astounding to see how Mrazs gift of a free concert brought such joy to everyone around me. I tried to capture some of that similar joy when I made this video.
