Would it suck to go downhill though? Does anyone know how. I mean like San Francisco downhill type of stuff. Or do people tend not to use fixies in that type of situation.

1. I have a fixie WITH brakes IDGAF
2. Ive been riding for 5yrs (not a pose/hipster)
3. Many Kids are giving up in the trend. I still ride no matter what
$. I dont walk up hill, and rush down hills
7. I bike LA
8. I respect gears (just not for me)
9. I dont skid or do tricks (again, not for me)
10. RIDE OR DIE BITCHEZ

I ride a track bike in the winter and a road bike in the summer. and mix it up along the way sometimes too with mountain biking. Cycling shouldn't have so many divisions. We're still getting places on two wheels by ourselves. Electric assists on the other hand...
-
also after i rode track bikes and fixed gears for 2 years i hopped on my road bike again and i went about 10 times faster.... they improve your cadence and speed SO much

holy shit thats a nice bike........

If its hurting your knees u probably havent got the bike fitted to u or u have the wrong bike or u cant pedal in circles properly. This tommy dude is clueless... I havent walked up any hill. I live in hills district in sydney. My mates walk their mountain bikes.... So sad.... 46. 16 for now. And taking feet off pedals down a hill is not freewheeling. Also fixed gear dosnt mean anythin about brakes. It means do what the hell u want!

Tommyogtigern is a lame troll with no arguments. He has no life and probably rides a tricycle.

1. you say this like you have experience with being a poser.
2. its no harder on the knees than riding a regular bike. the only difference is constant pedaling.
3. actually, you're even more so in control. whatever you do directly affects the bike. so you are even more careful on a fixie.
4. why bother going up a steep hill when you can take other, less-steep streets to get to the same destination? and i believe guidos are too big to fit on a fixie.
5. refer to number four.
best fixie trick ever

@tommyogtigern
6. its a culture. just like riding a skateboard. how are they gods? the simply use a fixed gear in their daily profession.
7. actually, with cheap $30 tires, and regular skidding, they still last months on end.
8. i don't even see what point you are trying to make here.
9. why would they make fun of people who idolize them? or so you say.
10. sounds like you tried to be cool and ride a fixie, tried tricks, and failed miserably so now you're bitter to everyone that rides one.
