http://bossrig.com - 2011 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 Custom Suspension 6.7 Powerstroke Diesel
New truck seen at Frontier Ford in Sunnyvale/San Jose. The custom suspension and wheels appear to have been done by 'Dealer Services'. The price on the sticker with the mods included is about $65,000.
That's $62,000 more than I paid for my own F250 4x4 diesel.
These newer engines are so complex that I just stick with the classics, but other folks are into newer trucks and willing to spend the money up front and on expensive maintenance and expensive fixes so I'm happy to feature them and sure do appreciate their looks and performance.

Here's some information on the new 6.7 Liter PowerStroke in this truck:
It's codenamed 'Scorpion'. First pickup diesel engine designed by Ford.
Totally new engine design that could be described as radical in how it approaches meeting EPA requirements while still generating high power and torque.
Unique turbo design which includes back to back high and low rpm impellers and adjustable vanes capable of a form of exhaust braking available in tow mode.
The turbo has a special ball-bearing cartridge around the shaft .. faster spool up, a very solid integral/centered base which routes oil and coolant to the turbo .. and this turbo system has it's own oil filter.
Two completely separate cooling systems; two radiators; two water pumps. Two EGR coolers.
Diesel Particulate Filter, DPF System.

* The big change *
SCR = Selective Cataytic Reduction.
Alongside the fuel talk filler there is now a filler to replenish a supply of 'diesel exhaust fluid', a diluted urea solution. (urea is a primary component of urine). A fine mist of this fluid is injected into exhaust gasses to reduce NOx. Dodge Cummins is using a similar system while Duramax uses a different approach to reducing NOx. It's predicted that most owners will have to refill the urea tank about as frequently as oil changes. The SCR system can also be referred to as a DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) system.
Piezo electric fuel injectors can inject 5 times per stroke through 8 nozzle openings.
These are electrically actuated and supplied with high pressure fuel through the Bosch common0rail system. It can reach up to 30,000 PSI.
This new engine has gone through and passed some very vigorous and extreme testing in the areas of continuous heavy towing and hard driving patterns as well as extreme temperature shock cycles of extreme hot and extreme cold such as you might get running an engine hard in Alaskan cold, turning it off for long enough just to let radiator coolant fall below freezing and then freezing cold coolant hitting the still very hot engine after a stop of a few minutes. Initial info sounds like they are testing very seriously to try to overcome risks associate with a new design and bad experiences with past PowerStrokes like the 6.0.

This engine is a LOT quieter than previous PowerStrokes, thanks to 'pilot injections' .. 1 or 2 initial injection events of the 5 possible injection events per stroke. This smooths out the combustion during a stroke and reduces the sound dramatically.

This article gives more info on the sounds including link to YouTube video demonstrating with/without pilot injection sound difference:

  • That lift kit sucks

  • @Reverseflush Details please. The dealers probably only care that the truck is lifted and looks a certain way, just to sell more to certain buyers. They probably don't put much effort into the quality or performance and just want it to have that look and be the cheapest cost to them. Personally, I would not buy a dealer-modded truck. Modding my own truck is the whole point! So what lift would you recommend?

  • my dad just bought a 2010 f350 king ranch a while back ago and he wants to trade it in for a one of these new models

  • @HalQuiramTV f350 king ranch! pretty awesome truck in either year! i guess the big difference would be the engine.

  • He coast 30.000 $

  • Wish they sold trucks like this in England! Ours are minute in comparison!

  • Looks Good!

  • @maxhauler The lift kit in your video is a pretty good quality kit. Like everything else with each dealership YMMV.

  • I think i read somewhere, someone was calling out Ford, saying Ford is using Pro Comp lifts on these factory prepared trucks. Pro Comp is the last brand i would chose considering all the brand choices for a F250. Guys on forums rag on procomp alot, so yea, why is ford trying to pass it off as a 10k lift package. Thats probably a $3500 setup with rims&tires

  • Id like to get a 2011 f350 with a 6.7, in about 5 or 10 years. Id get the lariat or king ranch, they come with 34" tires standard, 20" wheels, but they are proportionate. Id do a dpf delete 5 inch exhaust and a leveling kit. I think it would have the perfect stance.

  • a 10k markup?! Not a chance in any level of hell that shit is worth 10 grand So that's why they call it a stealership

  • grille sucks!!!!!
