2009 Selwyn Mayoral Challenge

The Mayoral Challenge is an annual New Zealand event to promote cycling and cycling safety. Mayors, from many city or district councils, lead families on a cycle ride in their area. In Selwyn, part of the Christchurch to Little River Railtrail is used. Much of this railtrail follows the route of a railway that was closed in the 1960s. In the two events held so far, Selwyn has been placed first and third.
