  • I hear ya. For all of the self-righteous chest thumping, there is a lot of stupidity that goes on. The radio is a choice one, and I got a hell of a deal on it. I have never used a Drake, but have heard plenty of good things about them. I used to enjoy chasing numbers stations and those kinds of oddities, but never hear them anymore. Just religious nuts and hams. Just waiting for the sun to shine again to get back outside! ;-)

  • Yes its pitiful yet any more I just dismiss all this stuff and skip over the "amateur" parts. That is a nice radio box you have there. I have a Drake R8B I use. When I speak of my SWL habits, I don't ever include 80M or 20M or any "ham type" freqs in my words. I just think for someone new to the hobby, It would cause them distress to even suggest they listen to "hams". BCB-DX, SW-DX, MW-DX, and marine SSB traffic is what we like best. Post some more wildlife vids also!
