  • This song is based on a song performed by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in one of their old movies. It has words."..Do the Carioca, it's not a tango or a polka..." The dance was performed with the couples forheads touching, but not hands. Weird.

  • When this record came out in 1962,BBC jocky Brian Mathews said that if it were Duanne Eddys' name on the label,this song would reach #1...thanks for the post.
