2004. i was not into U.S. politics i was still learning about it. i liked Blair because he had a good relationship with Pres. Bush and help the U.S. doing the Iraq war. i supported the war in iraq and did not want to see Tony Blair lose in 2005 GE. the UK was going to get out of Iraq under the Conservatives ( i did not know the Conservatives voted for the war and was anti-war like our democratic party.) if i had know all of this i would have been a fan of the Conservatives doing this time.

They never lost for Europe, Immigration and Tax, they lost for the memory of divisive Thatcher government and the failed Major government, people were frankly tired of the Tories and in many ways still are. But rejection is no reason to move away from core Conservative (not Tory) principle, in that case you might as well form a new party or join the Labour party, well, in effect the Tories are a centre party now. Now they dont attack EU, Tax or immigration but they still hurt the poor!

@SexyLiLLeilaniMya We are not a superpower, we are a world power. Germany and France are also world powers. Thatcher cleaned up the economy, and then introduced the worst possible social policies of all time during the next 7 years or so. She was a horrific PM, doing all she could to ruin the lives of middle and lower income families in order to change our economics system. I feel sorry for John Major who had to deal with her horrible legacy.
