Some important things to consider when you are not sure whether to buy a semi-auto or a revolver.

  • You also ignore temporary and permanent wound cavities caused by bullets. If caliber and stopping power does not matter then nobody would use rifles or shotguns for anything. And if shot placement does not matter then snipers would not try for head shots.

  • @43m1garand Obviously you haven't watched the caliber & shot placement videos. Handguns are VERY POOR tools for stopping someone. That's the bottom line. I have not ignored wound cavities as with handguns they are not very good. Penetration is poor as well. Of course rifles are better. And snipers go for head shots because they aren't in danger of being shot at & they have the element of surprise. This is like comparing apples to oranges.

  • A cranial ocular hit is lights out. A heart or other massive bleeding hit is 15 seconds or so to Hydraulic failure. A good brain stem hit is lights out. The rest take time.

This is simple yet has nothing to do with stopping power if such a thing happens. This is about killing and if you hit these spots everyone will die. Quickly.

  • @Sigp229TRT No, just because there are “more” .22’s out there than other calibers doesn’t mean there IS going to be more deaths by .22’s than other calibers. I say this because it doesn’t mean that .22’s ARE going to be used more to defend lives than other calibers. AND, I never said anything about the stats. I simply said that .22’s bounce around more. As far as hit what you shoot at… obviously you haven’t watched the calibers and shot placement videos because the average hit ratio is 20%.

  • I am NOT going to debate calibers because there is NO PROOF that a .40 or .45 is better than a 9mm. And with the low hit ratio, odds are you are NOT going to take someone immediately out of the fight. BOTTOM LINE! In fact, you have ABOUT a 10% chance that IF you do hit someone that you will take them immediately out of the fight. Drink the caliber & shot placement kool-aid if you want… but the facts are that it is all bs. Oh, and that should be MOVE, maybe shoot, and do your best to live!

  • After all, there are no guarantees in any of this!!!

  • hm hab was geiles entdeckt haha

  • @brian47374 No proof that a .40 or .45 is better than a 9mm? The caliber most used by cops is .40. They would use .45s but the .40 allows for a smaller grip for officers with small hands like women. The US military wants to go back to using .45s because the 9mm does not have enough stopping power. US Special Forces use .45s a lot. The 9mm is actually at the bottom end for caliber selection. Shot placement matters the most. Caliber counts too. Shoot someone in the head they are dead instantly.

  • he'd trust his life in a glock?!

  • Live is not an option it will happen. Maybe shoot well If I drew my handgun then lethal force is needed. Move always given the time and oppportunity. Nothing is ever the same sometimes you can grab cover other times you need to fight right NOW!!!

    Shoot,Move and Live!!!!!

  • @brian47374 Well the opposite is also true there is no proof that they are not better either. But this fact is true a .45 will make at least a half inch hole in you give or take and a 9mm much smaller. What does this mean well who knows but a bigger wound channel is never a bad thing now is it. I spose a Higher hit ratio would produce many more fast stops eh!!!

    Duck, Dodge and Run!!!

  • @brian47374 .22 s are not used more in defence. (And I did not say that) they are not respected that is why more people are shot and die. The average hit ratio with LEO'S and revolvers was about 33 percent back in the day. Then they went to the magical 9mm with lots of ammo and it never really changed. More ammo does not mean more hits. Better skills does!! I have been in the game a long time at 52 so I will go look it up AGAIN and post it again.

    Shoot,Move and Live!!!!
