.. That's the midsize Buick Special w/ V6 and V8 and LeSabre w/ V8... the "class" must have been only cars with crappy 2-speed automatic transmissions... like Chevy with Powerglide... maybe there was a Ford w/ 2-speed... put in a 200-4R w/ overdrive 4th gear and nearly double the MPG...
Who cares about the gas mileage my 65 skylark 4 door gets about 16 average but i dont care i just love driving it. Its worth paying 20 bucks a day to cruise for a little while.
I have a '66 leSabre with the super turbine trans (switch pitch) and the 'thrifty' small v-8 (340 cid). Travelling at a very sedate 45 mph and on normal terain I can get a little over 19 miles per gallon. Drive the vehicle 'normal like'...14 mpg is probably more realistic. Thanks for the posting it was great to watch.

well shit. my 95 Riv gets 20mpg...on premium...I still love it. Even though my 72 Skylark got 20. and was actually capable of a burnout.
