Madison::
Nick stared out the window for most of the ride, only speaking when he had too, it seemed. We got to the beach after about half an hour. I checked my the time on my phone and made a mental note that we would have to be home in about four hours, or so. Kevin was right, because when we got there, the beach was vacant. The only person there was a guy walking down the beach maybe a mile away. I was glad I was wearing shorts. It was Spring, so the water wouldn't be ideal, but it was warm enough that it shouldn't be cold. We got out the car and walked onto the sand. All of us were wearing sandals or flip flops. Apart from Ashley's skirt, we were all wearing shorts. I was glad that even though they didn't tell us to wear shorts, that I had anyway. Ashley and Joe headed right for the water, Ashley screaming when she felt it at first, and both of them laughing as they went out farther. I laughed watching them, and Kevin ran out, not even stopping when he hit the water, and ran past them, splashing them as he went by. Nick stayed though, probably not wanting to leave me on the beach.
Nick::
Kevin, Joe and Ashley were in the water, leaving me and Madison alone on the shore. We watched them laughing and screaming, and laughed as well. I looked around the beach and saw it was pretty much just the five of us here. That was lucky. "So when do you two need to be back?" I asked, wondering about dinner plans. She looked surprised for a second, and I knew it was because I hadn't said much, not anything since we got here. "Um about five thirty," she said, looking at me. I nodded and looked down at the sand. I wondered if it was ask akward for her as it was for me. "We've got a good four hours..." she said, probably trying to keep a conversation going. "Yeah..." I said, looking back up. She smiled and looked out at the others. "Do you want to go swim?" I asked. She nodded. "Sure, I mean if you want to," she hesitated. "Yeah," I nodded. I pulled my shirt off and left it with Joe and Kevin's. We walked down to the water and she commented on how nice it was today. I agreed, but the conversation dropped. When we got in the water, she gasped, probably expecting it to be warmer. I didn't think it was too bad. "Cold?" I asked, chuckling. She laughed. "A little..." We waded out a little farther and met up with others, who were now splashing each other and laughing. A rather large wave came and soaked us, the girls screaming. I laughed and splashed Joe, loosening up a little. After all, we were here to have fun.
Madison::
We swam for about two hours and finally walked back to shore, exhausted. I glanced at Nick, shirtless, and looked down. Ashley elbowed my gently and I looked up. She grinned and I rolled my eyes, smiling. The guys picked up their shirts and we walked over to the car. Nick pulled out a few towels and passed them around. I smiled warmly as I took mine, and wrapped it around myself, freezing. The water was cold enough, but coming out was even colder. Kevin turned up the heat when we got back in the car, and this time Joe rode up front. Nick was by the window and I was, again, in the middle. The guys had their shirts on now, so it wasn't as awkward. We rode around for a while, wondering where to go next, and they took us to their bus, back where the concert had been. We met their parents, who were extremely nice, and Frankie, who I thought was adorable. I always loved kids. Soon it was time to head back, and Nick walked us up to my door. "So I guess we'll talk later...text or something..." he said, delaying the goodbye. "Yeah, of course." I didn't dare ask the question I was dreading. When were they going home. But Nick brought it up anyway. "I think we're heading home on Tuesday..." he said, staring down. It didn't help though, because I could still see that look in his eyes. He wasn't looking forward to it either. Ashley left us alone on the porch as she went to talk to Kevin about something. Nick looked up at me, and even though the rest of them were behind us, he hugged me. It wasn't just a 'See you later' hug. At least, I didn't see it that way. "I'm going to miss you..and Ashley," he said pulling back and dropping his arms. "Yeah, I'm going to miss you guys too..." You most of all. I didn't add that end part, of course. Today was Sunday, and tomorrow was their last concert of the tour. Their last day here.
