After receiving a generous donation from the Freytag family of Palm Coast, Florida Hospital Flagler was able to purchase new pediatric therapy equipment, allowing the hospital to treat more patients than before.
Now, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center is more kid-friendly and houses a climb wall, sensory swing, chalk walls, and a jungle gym. While that may sound like a lot of fun, it is serious work for the kids, which helps them with coordination, strength, balance, endurance, and motor planning.
This was an 8-month project, but now Florida Hospital Flagler is better able to meet the needs of its younger patients, enabling kids and their parents to stay close to home for their care.
