I am working, simultaneously, on an album cover, an animated video installation, and a backdrop for musical performance, all in 3d. A week ago I purchased standard red-blue anaglyph glasses and set to work on some experiments.
For this I used Blender 3d and a simple skull mesh that I found for free. I didn't care too much about how this looked I was trying to fine-tune the 3d effect. I created a vortex field attached to a particle generator and had the skulls flying towards a stationary camera. I rendered that then moved the camera to the right and rendered again, combining the two views in AE with the "3d Glasses" effect. I tried boosting the 3d effect in this by spacing the renderings apart farther but there was too much "ghosting" - i.e. when the two overlapping images don't resolve easily.
Anyways, any feedback will be great and I will post more experiments as I complete them!
Nice work!
