Flat-screen computer monitors and TVs, Online shopping and split-second meals were just a few of the intriguing and promising things predicted in this film, back in 1967! This ultra-rare 16mm film recently emerged and was transfered to video with some digital re-mastering to remove alot of the pinkishness due to the film's age, and some noise reduction applied to the audio to remove hiss which was common to older 16mm films. Can anyone guess who the Puerto-rican singer is in mike's 'music video?' That singer has increddible and unbelievable range!

  • This was made in 1967 and is called 1999AD - the father is actually Wink Martindale who actually explains when he did this - on another current video linked to this one. Amazing how 3D is where we are now.

The "home computers" look like the components in my school library that we could put small film reals in and it would display each picture in a slide format.

  • @BennyB5555 I remember those machines, I would see them in the public librairies as well. They were called 'microfilm' viewers.

  • Doesn't that boy have other kids to play with?

  • Great vid! It's kind of creepy that some of those things actually worked out in the future or the present. Just think about of things to come. Sorry but I don't know who the singer is. And thanks for posting this up

  • The very last scene is a curious punchline. After all the wonders of progress yet to come are extolled, the Home of the Future is ultimately broken down and washed away by the forces of Nature.

  • @fivestarmichael It's 1999. He'd be anticipating Halo CE :P

  • Jamie's some fat little porker playing video games for hours very rarely going outside.

Parents are probably be divorced. Mom getting custody and Dad the kid on weekends.

The beach would probably have garbage on it. The water would be something you wouldn't let your dog swim in.

The kid failed his test but i'm sure some Asian kid aced it.

Watching people on American Idol who rarely amount to anyhting.

The mother's staying at home making handi-crafts because she lost her job to automation.

  • 3Dtv!

  • Jamie would be playing Halo 3, not chess.

  • That must be mariah carey's dad or something. WTF? I cant even get that high.

  • Yeah... music was just like this in 1999... the dude is a cross between Eminem and Mariah Carey!
