Clint McCallum discusses his composition for saxophone and piano, "In a Hall of Mirrors Waiting to Die." The piece will be performed on the January 11, 2010 Monday Evening Concert at Zipper Concert Hall. Saxophonist Eliot Gattegno and pianist Eric Wubbels will perform.     I think you're misunderstanding this younger generation (those under 30). Pop-culturally, there is no genre map. Pastiche is mainstream. That shirt is for the album Symbolic, by gosh, which kinda blows. (Human is the seminal Death work.)

  • Am I a total a-hole for surmising that this guy is kind of an American Cowboy Varese for Dummies? And the whole death metal/cowboyhat image is so transparent. "Oh wow, there are so many inconsistencies here! My little conservative classical music brain can't handle it!"

    All that said, guy is talented. I just wish he'd not be afraid to present himself as the cool person he really is. Not the rebellious fuckwit he presents currently.
