Sad to see this level of silliness and ignorance in the us congress. I'd challenge the dude to make a single solitary cubic mile of ocean water acidic using CO2.

He is right about equlibrium! Plants breathe in co2 and exhale oxygen, if you increase population and decrease vegetation this would happen regardless of any other influence!

Another factor the seem to forget is this is a natural cycle Global Warming/Cooling, that is supported by fossil records! Both sides are feeding us BS, In the 70s there was a Global Cooling scare! Science has proven this is a natural cycle and common sense should tell you we have a effect on that! What haven't we effected?

@69QuIzAcK69 Okee Dokee, where can I read about this study of CO2. That would be a real game changer. On the other hand, I'm betting that it doesn't exist. CO2 is heavier than air. Atmospheric Oxygen is lighter than CO2 and it doesn't seem to be floating away. To make CO2 you have to add a Carbon atom. That adds weight. It's called physics.

Are you from an alternative universe where this might be possible?

Exactly which theory says that CO2 is being "trapped" without suffering any loss into space? So how many million tons of CO2 are we losing per year? Shouldn't we then be concerned about losing our entire atmosphere within the next 10000 years? So does that mean that CO2 levels are not rising? And what is causing ocean acidification if it isn't CO2? Which data exactly was hidden or falsified? Prove your case and awards will come your way!

There's always a certain amount of gases escaping from the atmosphere, but it is not large enough to change the outcome of global warming. Most of the greenhouse gases remain in the atmosphere to trap the heat in, and to warm up the planet....

What about the 20 year study that was just completed that measured the amount of Co2 that was escaping the atmosphere into space was COMPLETELY against the theory that Co2 is being trapped. This was done from satellite, and measured the Co2 that left! GET OVER IT! It's false! You saying, "No it isn't" doesn't make it true! And if it's so bullet proof, WHY DID THEY LIE AND HIDE DATA? WHY? MORON!

Congressman Inslee's heart is in the right place, and though he may not be a scientist, his intellectual instincts are right also. Good for him.
