For Visionaire's sixtieth issue, the editors collaborate with Riccardo Tisci, the Artistic Director of Givenchy, to guest edit RELIGION.
RELIGION is Tisci's meditation on the theme of »religion« as depicted by photos and art commissioned and curated by Tisci specially for this issue. Images are featured in black and white with gold pages. Independent of any divination, the issue's theme draws inspiration from »religion« as a synonym for obsession, ritual, worship, apparition, and the celebration of humanity.
For the issue, Marina Abramovic collaborates with Riccardo Tisci to depict her view of art's relationship with fashion; Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott photograph Lara Stone; Paolo Canevari envisions Franca Sozzani as a saint; Karl Lagerfeld photographs Carine Roitfeld; Berlinde de Bruyckere collaborates with Mario Testino on a series of nudes; Jefferson Hack curates Polaroids by Patti Smith; Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin re-envision »Lucy Fer«; Nick Knight and Katy England render a winged Kate Moss crucifix; Givaudan perfumer Yann Vasnier creates the smell of RELIGION; and much more.
