What is Judo? Butokuden

What is Judo? This is a promotional video by the Kyoto University Judo Club. They are proud of hosting the first ALL JAPAN JUDO TOURNAMENT for High Schools and Vocational Schools (Kosen) in 1914. The Dojo you see in the video is called BUTOKUDEN, a historic monument where the KOSEN tournaments were held for approximately 30 years from this date. This Dojo was built by DAI NIPPON BUTOKU KAI in 1885, a central governing organization of all Japanese martial arts including Kodokan, which existed until just before the break of the WW II.
