Hammam is Turkish my Maghreb brothers, i am from Tunisia and it's true, there are differences between the types of Hammam nowadays, for example we in Tunisia don't have a lot of Hammams with a cold part.

Also the Ottoman Empire is where it originated they brought it to Europe, then it was brought to the Phoenician city Carthage (Tunisia) and spread throughout the Maghreb.

Why try to change history by saying it originated in the Maghreb , it's called a Turkish bath for a reason!

@TH3USUALSUSPECT  hammams existed since the amawi empire, before the word turkish existed. Read history. Othman left overs such as ur self are part of the problem that try to bring down anything arabic.

@TH3USUALSUSPECT I'm not an expert but there were already hammams in Al-Andalus (Madinat-al-Zahrâ' in Spain) under the Umayyades when Turkish Saljoukides didn't exist anyway, at the time where Iran and Irak were under the Abbassids during the 9-10th century. thank you for reading ;)

@mduz1982 The word hamam is Arabic.As for the tradition,it's originally Roman and Byzantine.The Turks found it when they came to Anatolia.How can a nomad have such a luxury when he struggles for survival.As for the Ottoman tradition in whole,on it's base it's Perso-arabic with many Byzantine elements.
