This video is a good example of the extreme sensitivity that some people feel when addressing the very end attachment of the medial or inside quadriceps muscle. One participant in the class is lying on his side with his leg laid on the roller and he looks like he is just chilling out...another participant is literally howling and shouting out as she attempts to rock her leg across the roller. Whether you are the guy with no discomfort, or the gal with extreme sensitivity, the movement is the same: 3 rocks across the end of your VMO, then 3 x 3-inch strokes from the knee to the pubic bone. Good luck!
Why would you roll out vmo you are all dumb asses when your kneecap pops out you will wish you would have not done this dumb fucks

@nellek970 Your VMO is very likely to build up contraction knots (trigger points) and fascial adhesions that inhibit proper function. Eventually these dysfunctions will lead to your VMO "giving out" because it cannot handle the load you place on it, sometimes even when you are just walking or standing for too long. Practicing SMR regularly clears out this "junk" that builds up. Good luck with your training!

Why does hurt? A lot of scar tissue or something?
jay733 1 year ago
@jay733 you have pain receptors in your body that get highly sensitized when they don't get good bloodflow. Think of how your foot tingles when it has gone to sleep and it's starting to wake up again. The pain receptors get less sensitive the more often you massage the tissues to improve circulation. You will notice that the pain gets less and less over time with continued SMR and regular massages.
Check out our other video for the VMO that provides better technique instruction. Good luck!
