Conneaut Lake Park Bessemer Railway System ( Miniature Railroad ) and Blue Streak

This is the Bessemer Railway System ( Miniature Railroad ) and Blue Streak rollercoaster at Conneaut Lake Park in northwestern Pennsylvania. The miniature train ride has been in this location since the 1940's and the "Iron Horse" locomotive is from 1968. The ride was shut down at the end of the 2002 season due to the lack of maintenance. A "Brick by Brick" campaign was started and the ride reopened in 2006 after raising approximately $56,000. The Blue Streak coaster was built in 1938 by Edward Vettel and is an American Coaster Enthusiasts "Coaster Classic" and Landmark Coaster. The Blue Streak has a very rare and unique track design and still uses a manual breaking system and one original train. The original train was last used in 2006 and at the time of this video the Blue Streak was not operational for almost three years. Video taken on August 15, 2009. Since this video, the Blue Streak has opened once again thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project, $10,000 from the American Coaster Enthusiasts, and donations from many fans and supporters who love the Blue Streak (including a donation from myself).
