This CX is a 500/650 hybrid with home-made exhaust and car muffler. 500 engine in a 650 chassis.
Engine has done 150,000 + miles.
The sound recording on my camera does not do justice to the raspy tone of the v-twin ratbike! (carburation fully sorted now too - this vid was shot just after building) http://ofapars-.webs.com/

  • What a waste of a perfectly good motorcycle.

  • CX500 was my first street bike back in 84, nice bike. No matter how many bikes you have over the years, you never forget your first one. The CX was big for a 500, a bit on the heavy side but fun. Mine was pretty much done around 110 mph. Had some problems with the cam chain tensioner, so I was suprised to read yours had 150000 miles on it.

  • @Buddykitchen I agree.. i love the sound . smoooth .. very nice job on this. very cool indeed .. hats off. sounds like its running good too.

  • @douglas787 Just bought an old 78 cx for my first bike. I figured it would be a good starter bike for me. Had to put some money in it (stator, mech-seal, oil seal, ect). Now it's my baby. It's just enough for me right now and I really like it.

  • One less... :(
