Underdog 2 Chapter 12

Nick's P.o.v

Chris was the first to go, closely followed by Alexis, Sam running after her. Next was Mia leaving completely exhausted. Joe just stood there frozen for a few moments before throwing his hands up in frustration quickly following in the other four's footsteps.

"Well this day didn't exactly turn out as great as I accepted" Lauren sighed as Kevin took her comfortingly in his arms
"Do you think they're going to be ok?" I asked nervously I couldn't take anymore arguing
"I dont know?" Kevin shook his head
"A lot of emotions were displayed and a lot of feelings were hurt" Lauren hummed into chest as he rubbed her back soothingly
"Do you recon we should go make sure there all ok?" I questioned and Kevin sighed as Lauren pulled out of his arms
"Sam's already got Alexis, which leaves us Chris, Mia and Joe to find between us" Lauren stated deep in thought
"I'll get Mia" Lauren spoke after a moment of silence
"I'll take Chris" Kevin announced and I sigh
"I guess that leaves me with Joe" I sighed and Kevin patted my back apologetically
"Your be fine" Lauren quoted as she gave me a comfortingly smile and we all started to head back to the hotel. Soaking in the last few minutes of peace and harmony.

As soon as we hit the restaurant doors we all spilt heading in different directions.i had no idea where Joe could be, or where he might have headed. I decide to try the obvious and pulled my phone out my pocket and dial Joe's number, but before I could Joe walked past me Sam quick on his heal a look of anger on both of their faces.

Mia p.o.v

I quickly turned to find Alexis. She wasn't crying but the evidence of her tears was clear

"Do think maybe I could get a lift back with you" she asked timidly. I just kind of stood there in shock I mean I thought she would hate me not share a taxi with me.
"I'll pay my share" she offered as she reached for her purse but I stopped her
"I think this ones on me" I smiled weakly as I held the taxi door open for her, she looked at me for a moment before returning the gesture and making her way into the taxi me quickly following.

"I thought Sam was with you" I pondered as soon as the taxi had started moving
"She was" Alexis admitted as she looked down at the floor
"She thinks I'm in the bathroom" Alexis added guiltily and I couldn't help but smile slightly
"Wow how comes I've never thought of that escape before" I giggled and she smiled fading quickly as she decide to get down to business

"Mia can I ask you something? I know it's personal and I know we havent known each other long but I need to know" she asked so much fear behind her eyes
"What do you need to know?" I asked sitting up slightly I had a feeling this wasn't going to be the easiest conversations
"Have you and Joe ever been more then friends?" she asked bluntly it took me back slightly. I thought about it had I and Joe really ever been anything but friends, the answer technically no we never had sure I had kissed him but that never lead to anything.
"No" I answered after a while of silence and she sighed

"He told me about the kiss Mia" she whispered and my mouth dropped
"He what?" I mumbled in shock
"he told me all about you Mia, he told me about how he had liked you for a long time and when you kissed him that day he had never felt happier, he told me all about how hard he found it in the beginning to be away from you, he told me how it was hard but he moved on because in the end it would be easier and fairer to both of you, he promised me that he was over you Mia but I get worried" she broke tears starting to stain her cheeks but I was frozen to the seat
"Now that he has his real mia back I start to worry that those feelings he had for you are going to come back I...just... I just dont want to lose him" she stuttered dropping her head into her hands in tears.

"He liked me?" I barely whispered but Alexis heard at once her head shot up a look of panic washing over her face
"You didn't know?" she breathed and I shocked my head
"Oh no I thought you knew I thought he told you oh what have I done" she cried dropping her head into her hands again and I slowly came back to reality.

I moved across the seats so I was next to Alexis wrapping my arms around her.
"It's ok I won't say anything" I whispered to her and she buried her head into my shoulder and I leant my head on top of hers blocking our faces from each as I rocked us both back and forth
"Joe likes you Alexis not me" I started and she shook her head into my shoulder
"Lex this afternoon when he saw you in that hallway, he only saw you no one else, not Lauren Sam or me he only had eyes for you...I was invisible just like the rest of them" I admitted tears glossing my vision

"Do you love him Mia?" Alexis barely whispered into my shoulder after a long silence...
"I...um..."
