Me improvising on this glorious instrument. It is almost entirely original except for some mutations and a swell enclosure added to the Choir division in the 1930s. The Great reeds and Choir Corno di Bassetto have recently been revoiced to their original sound by Trevor Crowe, who maintains this wonderful old organ. Many thanks to Brendan McCourt, cathedral organist and director of music, who allowed me to play and recorded this short video.

  • Ronan, nice to finally see a video of the wonderful instrument. When and by whom were the Great reeds and Corno di Bassetto revoiced from the Willis original and how significant was the difference

  • @NarrucNalced Hi there. The reeds were revoiced by Trevor Crowe. This was done very sympathetically to restore the original sound which had been somewhat compromised over the years.
