The University of the District of Columbia has begun a significant component of the renovation project of the interior plaza deck. Today (April 5th), members of DC Greenworks began placing live vegetation below grates designed to be a green space on the southwest section of the Van Ness Campus. Much of the renovated campus contains green spaces, including 40 cherry trees donated by the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Mayor Vincent Gray will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony April 27th to mark the donation and the completion of the plaza deck renovation.
