My rendition of an automatic 'spring switch' without the spring. Using a simple inclined plane instead.

  • How does it react when a train comes in facing the points instead of trailing?

  • It works as a normal switch. The train goes whichever way the switch is being held by the wheel weight, which may be mounted to either side.

  • The disadvantage is if you wanna back up while ON the switch :)

  • smart idea man

  • i used to do this with my train set (no specific scale) first time it derailed, then i loosened the screw and it worked both ways. now the only thing surviving is a locomotive

  • A "trailable facing point"?

  • that would be good for a reversing loop

  • hmmm what if u wanted to go back on that track?? lol

  • that's clever 5 stars

    Christian :-)

  • Very cool! Thanks for the reply!..
