Boston Youth and Student Organizers and Workers demand Demand more funding for Education and Say NO to the push for More CHarter Schools. CHarter Schools are part of the push to privatize all things public. The government criticize the performance of the youth on their biased tests but are not addressing the environment that these youth are coming from. It is part of the agenda to break up families and create more poverty and desperation among the working class, because it allows for businesses to continue to make profits off of the worker's who much compete towards the bottom over falling wages.
In a column written by Bob Herbert of the New York Times states that Only 65 of every 100 men aged 20 through 24 years old were working on any given day in the first six months of this year. For male teenagers, the numbers were disastrous: only 28 of every 100 males were employed in the 16 through 19-year-old age group. For minority teenagers, forget about it. The numbers are beyond scary; theyre catastrophic.
Herbert called the 0.1 percent unemployment drop in July wildly deceptive, because the decline was not because more people found jobs, but because 450,000 people withdrew from the labor market. They stopped looking, so they werent counted as unemployed.
There is a crisis, and it calls for ALL people to organized to fight back. The same people who are the cause of this crisis, received a government bailout, while the people of the nation (really the world) are left to suffer the blows. We need to organize the fight back and take our message to the G20 in September in Pittsburgh to demand the money stop going to these multinational banks and corporations and that money goes back to funding education and real jobs programs. Money must be invested on the poor people, to provide them with housing so that they can shelter their families, eat and work to get their lives together.
We Stand with the People and say to HELL with these greedy banks and corporations as Bank of America and GMs. We say STOP the War and We believe in People's Self Determination and not Imperialism.
