The part when you stop playing as Rebecca is the end of "Resident Evil Zero"....the part when Wesker appears is the start of "Resident Evil 1"....you are playing the different games in the series through the perspective of different characters.

When you play as Wesker, i imagine him walking and shooting all the zombies as if it was nothing...
