My little rant on the abuse of features. There are a lot of videomakers that genuinely care about their subs as people, and there are also video makers who genuinely care about their subs as subs.

I filmed this September 14, a week later youtube posted this on their blog.

  • good video. There is also another problem...it's very hard to find good video makers.

for example, the only reason I found your channel was because I sometimes look through the recent videos tab and click on videos that look interesting...i saw your video called "This story is coollike".

  • @camdogie: You're right that it's hard to find good video makers. I think it's sort of like the music industry. You have the front names who are decent (like sxephil), or bad (like Fred). Then you go underground and there are some really good artists that just haven't been discovered (lots of bad ones too though).

  • I agree with you so much.

  • It's nice to know I'm not off my rocker...or at least I'm off my rocker with someone else :)

  • You made a lot of good points :)

Though only thing I ever forget to do is rate, and that's not really too important. I just watch videos because I enjoy watching them and talking to people, of course if I like videos i'll subscribe, though I don't judge a channel on one video XD

  • FIVE STARS FOR COMMENTING SUBSCRIBE FOR FIVE STARS

All good points! I heartily approve. I always want to think of Youtube (and the internet in general) as a meritocracy but often it's people who try to game the system that end up becoming more visible.

Also? It's hard to say things like that last sentence without sounding bitter, which tends to damnpen this kind of conversation!
