Have never heard this before, and I've been a Floyd fan for over 30 years. Caught this on BBC4 the other day. Must look at this period a lot closer...Thanks for posting

As a child,i hear these very sounds,at Aunt Ola V's house,in her yard.I am surrounded by nature alive in the trees. And they all see me.in my element...free and me.Auntie a lover of nature, all are welcome. The bee,the spider & web,the stray cat,a small black snake under the cool damp steps.Moss grows with tiny purple flowers amongst a tiny stream. The cemetary across the country hill,I am not alone,i know.Enchantment, magic, the air alive as well.Thank you Aunt Ola V,see you again one eternity...

this version is much better than that on the album

pink floyd does pastoral idylls better than anyone. and then there are the whimsical, magical syd barrett songs, better than any other of such a genre. then ... the intergalactic masters of sound worked more wonders. never ever forget the rick wright songs, and syd's. and bless david for his care and love for syd and richard, his gorgeous voice , and roger was pretty wonderful, too. and nick is a sweet darling angel

Love it!! Hear the lark harken to the barking of the dog-fox gone to ground...

Holy shit.I remember seeing this on television when I was like 18 or 19.Loved it.I was never as fond of Floyd from Dark Side on as I was prior to that.

Waters leaves Gilmour alone with the harmony. Nice variation but i miss the harmony of the two. This version they get a bird (nightingale?) in a tripletty counterpoint they didn't get with the skylark in the original and it's mixed way up front so that it hits you with a druggy intensity. What was it about the sixties that you got these magical coincidences of genius kind of people forming bands? I can understand why 18 year olds are still listening to this old shit.

@peoman2 I have to say I agree. Even though I love every one of their albums from Saucer onwards I still think that era of Floyd is my favorite.
