This is a video I made for a project in Smørfjord, Finnmark county, up in the far north of Norway. A cousin of mine together with other enthusiasts, have made a reconstruction of a typical coastal Sami settlement as it was around 100 years ago. Almost everyone around there are coastal Sami and for those of you who do not know, the coastal Sami are those of the Sami people who have been living in the fjords and along the coast up there, combining fishing with farming on a small scale. If you are on your way to North Cape, drop by:)
My friend Lew Buckley kindly gave the permission to use one of his compositions, performed by The Cosmopolitan Quartet; Roland Froescher and Adam Frey, euphoniums, Matthew K. Brown and Michael S. Milnarik, tubas.

(I had to re-edit and re-upload it because of some minor changes:)
@cat5ify Sorry for not responding earlier but well, then I guess your people might have been Swedish Sami...

We are all in Alaska. Lots of people go to fish camp and save up fish for eating all year round. When summers are so short you have to work hard in the summer while you can. But our people came from Sweden and lived semi-nomadically in Alaska. My Grandmother's artwork prominently features caribou/reindeer.

Lovely film! Excellent photography and the music is very nice. This looks like our fish camps only the tents are different.
