29 feet not 28 feet - nobody before this had jumped 28 feet - he went from 27ft 11 to 29 ft and a bit - missed out a whole foot. The single most amazing jump in history

I saw this jump on ABC's Wide World of Sports years ago and am as amazed
now as I was back then...this was absolutely incredible. Think of it...a 28 FOOT JUMP and that's STRAIGHT ACROSS WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GROUND!!! For a moment, the law governing gravity was suspended by a man. Robert "Bob" Beamon is a very respectable man too...way to go Bob...I hope you're living a happy life where you are.

bob's jump was studied and they figured out that he got his body his WHOLE body nearly 6'2 inches into the air on a LONG JUMP!! thats craziness!!!

so get this. I told my friend who jesse owen was becuz she didnt know. I explained about how he was supposed to shake the hand of hitler. She thought it was useless knowledge. Does anyone else think that thats shallow?
