Breathtaking performance. I first heard this when I was a child trying to learn this Scherzo, and it had the contradictory effects of inspiring me to see just what can be achieved on the piano, and wanting to give up because I knew that no matter how much I practice, I would never be able to play it like that. It's not just the virtuosity, it's the the dynamic range, the beauty of touch, the soundness of the inrterpretation, the flair. The definitive performance in my view.
