I was out in a tent a few years ago in Mercer Wisconsin at night heard a loud scream it wasn't a howl of a Wolf or Coyote ended up being a Bobcat I was so scared thought it was a Mountain Lion/Cougar because we heard there was some Cougar sightings around Mercer at that time.

I am not sure, but this does not sound like coyotes. Sounds like foxes.

ehh I heard coyotes howling in the middle of the night when i went camping, i was alone in the tent...the sound is eerie, not fun when your alone in the dark, in the woods....yeah...

last night i woke up because my dog was annoying me, so i got out of bed for a second. I stopped, and heard this same thing down the street! you have to admit, it's kinda creepy to hear!!

just 2 days ago at about 3 in the morning on saturday, i was on a scout campout. i was awoken to the sound of coyotes howling. it was awesome! you would hear the closest one howl, then a couple off in the distance howling.

glad they weren't closer if you were alone, its totally freaky if they're 20 feet from your tent and howling.. unfortantly first hand experience lets me be able to say that XD

yeah i saw that two... im pretty sure attacks like that are extremely rare. ive scared up coyotes in grass and they take one look at you and run away

yes, alone in a tent, but they were just coyotes, so i wasn't too worried. although i just read an article about a Canadian female singer who was hiking and got attacked by 2 coyotes and was killed by them, which is craaazy.

oh yeah, it woke me up and i was scared to death cuz i had no idea what it was at first, and i was coming out of a deep sleep, and i was in a tent in the middle of the woods so... :-(
