Bring back John Brophy! It's like they've been paid to make dumb ass trades and drafts it's like a fixed boxing match year after year. Go leafs Go should be changed to Stink leafs Stink!

Mhmm, check the stats on their drafted people... A large majority of thier team was drafted and late drafts at that... Bowman was offered a job but like you said he wanted 100% control... I believe that was right before Burke and Furgy wanted to be in still...

you have a lot of your facts wrong. detroit had scottie bowman. he single handedly hand made trades to have a better team players such as B.Shanahan. the owner wanted to put a winning team on the ice so they changed everything and did so quickly in the early 90's and they are still a Top team.

scottie later went on to be a part of Pittsburgh and they won.

i was told scottie was offered a position with the leafs and it never went through, cause he wanted to run the show

You say Montreal now... They were undersized, underskilled, and supposed to go nowhere. Nobody had them doing anything let alone making the playoffs and they suprised everybody with, frankly, semi good players... So if Montreal did it with no BIG name stars it wont take much in the way of forwards to boost this leafs team...

Montreals cups mean nothing... Montreal had dibs on ALL french players, and at that time they were the best players so its a no brainer they won cups...

I'm not aguing the fact that they suck; It dosn't take a genius to see that. I'm arguing the fact that you don't cheer for a tream that you say you use to love because they lost and lose... It's a game of winning and losing [people say they havent won since the origional 6], maybe theres a reason for that... humm because there were more teams and the game got harder?

Detroit didn't sign big name stars, they didnt spend millions stealing players from other teams, they drafted players who became good...

The leafs did win before the lockout, then everybody went young, skilled and it is an entirly different hockey game... They tried to win with the same key players they had befor but the population got older and it showed...

If you say the cup is a different story, fine. The leafs made the playoffs and fell to the best goalie [brodeur]
